The ladder — how a trigger works
Observable

The phenomenon a source could measure, defined in advance with its condition.

Observation

What the source actually returned at assessment time — a measured value with a timestamp. In Grabo's terms, a fact.

Trigger

The observation crossing its stated condition. The sub-indicator fires; the fact becomes an indication.

Sub-indicator

One collectable slice of an indicator, bound to exactly one observable and one open source.

Indicator

A named category of expected activity; its status is the worst of its sub-indicators.

Judgment

Probability posture, domain-weighted; I&W indicators drive it. Never a forecast of timing.
